Vacation Body Blueprint

What is Vacation Body Blueprint by Rusty Moore?

Vacation Body Blueprint is a guide to losing the last few pounds to get ready for a vacation or any other event.  It is a short-term aggressive workout routine.

Who is Rusty Moore?

Rusty Moore runs Fitness Black Book, a site dedicated to the lean, “Hollywood look” that receives a quarter million page views per month.  He has nearly 20 years of fitness experience.

What did I like about Vacation Body Blueprint?

Vacation Body Blueprint lays out a number of research studies providing evidence on the best ways to lose stubborn fat while maintaining muscle.  The methods are used on two real people who were struggling to get to really low body fat levels.

What didn’t I like about Vacation Body Blueprint?

Vacation Body Blueprint is only a short-term workout.  If you try to follow this for more than 3-4 weeks, you’ll likely burn out.

Is Vacation Body Blueprint an effective exercise program?

Yes.  As the name indicates, this is a blueprint for how to become as lean as you’ve ever been.  I had success using this program to lose a lot of belly fat.  I plan on using it again as well (2-3 times per year would be reasonable).

Who should use Vacation Body Blueprint?

Anyone who is already lean but fighting to shed the last few pounds.  Anyone who wants to look great for an upcoming vacation or event.  Anyone who’s not afraid of a lot of hard work in the short term.

Bottom Line Recommendation

Vacation Body Blueprint is the best short-term aggressive program around to help you lose any remaining fat.

  • Dave,

Rusty did put together a nice plan for everyone interested in the “Hollywood” look. I like to refer it to all my friends who only know about pumping iron.

Thanks for putting this on your site.

  • Mitchell,
I certainly thought it was a good read, especially considering that it was free. Definitely not a bodybuilder’s guide!

  • Dave,

I just downloaded this very report last week from Rusty’s website. I did the ‘Crazy 8 Bodyweight Circuit’ and let me tell you – I still have a long ways to go with my physical fitness.

Halfway through the first circuit, I was thinking, ‘this is so not what we did in high school gym class’. By the end of the second circuit, I was a sweaty mess!

I’m definitely ditching the jump rope for cardio and doing this in place of my running once the snow comes.

Rusty’s like a magic genie; he keeps coming up with winning formulas.

P.S. Also, between you and Rusty, I’m almost sold on giving IF a try. Today I actually skipped breakfast – it wasn’t that bad.

  • Toni,
Good idea to implement the Crazy 8 Bodyweight Circuit. If I recall, that’s actually a Craig Ballantyne workout from Turbulence Training. Regardless, it’s definitely good for fat burning. Ease in IF. I’m sure you’ve checked out the posts I’ve written so you know my experience and my opinion.

  • Toni:

    Dave,

Point taken about easing into IF. It’s just between your posts and the Vacation Body Blueprint where Rusty talks about it a lot has made me rethink things a little. He does state and so have you that there’s a bit more “wiggle room” when you incorporate a couple of days of IF into your diet.

The way I’m eating now (5-6 times a day) doesn’t allow me a fraction of error either way. My diet has to be COMPLETELY clean and on point at all times. It’s kind of exhausting me, to be honest.

I do find my appetite has fallen off the past few weeks because of the heat so I figured that it was a good time to test IF out.

I still want to eat cleanly but not being able to enjoy say a slice of my son’s birthday cake just seems almost counterproductive, if that makes any sense.

I need to re-read some of your posts and decide if IF is something I want to permanently implement because it would really change the way I eat. I can think of two weekdays though where it could be feasible.

Sorry for the long-winded post…thanks for being a great source of information as well as a sounding board.

  • Toni,
Your point is exactly why intermittent fasting works for me. Flexibility when I want to enjoy some of the “finer” foods in life like cake and ice cream.
