The Jump Manual
What is The Jump Manual by Jacob Hiller?
The Jump Manual is a program designed to increase your vertical leap. In fact, Jacob Hiller guarantees you will add at least 10” to your vertical in 12 weeks. The program takes a multi-faceted approach, targeting nine key areas to maximize your vertical leap through explosiveness and quickness.
Who is Jacob Hiller?
Jacob Hiller trains athletes from high school, college, the NBA, and Olympics. He has been involved in vertical jump training for 10 years. Jacob developed and tested his vertical leap training theory with local athletes when he was on a two year mission trip. He currently has a 44” vertical leap.
What did I like about The Jump Manual?
The Jump Manual targets everything from nutrition to jumping mechanics to plyometric exercises. The program is relatively flexible allowing you to choose whether you’d like to train with weights or bodyweight only. While I haven’t completed the program, the methods involved are definitely better than some other programs I’ve seen.
I had a 34” vertical in high school. The best leaper in school, who ended up starting for UConn, had a 36” vertical. My goal was to beat his vertical. I made use of the Air Alert program and didn’t gain a single inch due to overtraining (the program involved extensive sets and reps of plyometrics almost every day of the week). The Jump Manual’s approach is similar to any good strength training program in that it involves explosive low rep sets and plenty of rest.
What didn’t I like about The Jump Manual?
The only downside to The Jump Manual is the time commitment. This isn’t a quick fix program; you’ll have to fully commit for 12 weeks, although you should see results sooner. The other downside is where to perform some exercises. I workout in my basement and hit my head on the ceiling for certain exercises.
Is The Jump Manual an effective exercise program?
The Jump Manual delivers on its promise, increasing your vertical leap. Jacob offers a full money back guarantee, which he claims has never been requested. Reviews across the web tout The Jump Manual as highly effective, and Jacob has hundreds of customer testimonials.
In addition to using The Jump Manual to solely increase your vertical leap, I think it is a great general training program for functional strength. What do you think is more impressive to the average person: the ability to squat 400lbs or the ability to dunk a basketball? I bet most people would rather see you dunk a basketball, especially if you’re short.
Who should use The Jump Manual?
It’s most appropriate for basketball players, but as I mentioned above, I think the program has a place in any regular fitness program to develop explosive leg strength.
Bottom Line Recommendation
